The Forma team developed the visual identity for Core Bistro — a cozy café located within the Core architecture studio in the center of Moscow. We translated the atmosphere of a contemporary creative space through calm typography, a minimalist color palette, and clear graphic accents. The identity was seamlessly applied across menus, signage, and interior materials, emphasizing the character of the place — honest, bright, and designed for meetings and good coffee.

While developing the bistro’s logo, we realized that since the bistro is located on the ground floor of the architecture studio and the two spaces are inseparably connected, the identities of both the studio and the bistro should also be linked. We redesigned the architecture studio’s logo, increased its contrast, and added a changeable element.

We introduced handwritten elements and a script-style typeface into the bistro’s visual language. Rather than acting as a strict rule, it can easily be replaced with an actual handwritten signature — on a menu or a takeaway cup, for example.

We also like that the logo remains recognizable even when set in a simple grotesque typeface, which works especially well across messengers and social media platforms. The logo can also be used in a combined version featuring only the symbol and the “BISTRO” signature. This approach allows for greater flexibility and more varied compositions.
